About
Painter, musician and performance artist, Maitreya Yeshwant was born in Wardha, India in 1994. He grew up amidst a spiritually inclined family alongside his parents, breathing in the reflections of the esoteric.
Maitreya spent his early years studying Astrophysics, later dropping out in the 4th year of his masters. A diverse taste in music and a keen nose for the scent of the air fuel his abstract art.
Narrowing in with an empty mind, his cells embody their experiences in his expression. His Oeuvre is on the crossroads of science and spirituality, drawing parallels between the absolution of mathematics and the spontaneity of creation. Merely present as a medium of colours in an objective landscape of the ‘no mind’, Maitreya trusts emulating processes of nature and its elements by being nature.
He lets complete madness take over. The explosion of colours on his canvas is balanced by the inimitable white. His roughly crafted flaws ignite the spaces of ¨ no colour ¨ in a subjective perception.
A charm of possession in his earlier artworks was led further by the ripening of his textures.
Currently he works between India,Europe and the states exhibiting and performing his art.
